The Rahill-Bonanza Property is comprised of 1,506 hectares of patented mineral claims located some 450 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay,Ontario and 1350 kilometres northwest of Toronto.
The Red Lake District has a rich and well-documented mineral exploration history. Gold mining first began in the district in the mid-1920’s and has been conducted on a nearly continuous basis since. The establishment of mining operations at Cochenour and Balmertown, beginning in the 1940’s, represented a significant expansion of gold production and firmly established the district as a world-class mining camp.
The most recent cycle of major discoveries began in 1995 with Goldcorp’s High Grade Zone at Balmertown, just east of Rahill-Bonanza. Widely regarded as one of Canada’s most important gold discoveries of the last twenty years, it highlighted the potential for transformative exploration success beneath shallower, more marginal historic deposits and has led to additional major discoveries in Red Lake at Bruce Channel, Phoenix and HG Young.
