Today Premier has released the final series of assays for 2017 as well as provided a more comprehensive update on progress made at Hasaga during the year. Our latest results include high grade intercepts with attractive geometries and common visible gold, which have become the hallmark of several Deep Hasaga holes this year.
After the release of the mineral resource estimate, that was based on shallower, near-surface mineralization, Premier turned its attention to targeting deeper mineralization. Historic results such as in HRL 88-02 and HRL 88-03 certainly helped our team vector its initial drill hole. We could not have expected a better result. Hole HMP 151 was a fifty-four metre high grade intercept (C Zone) that included common visible gold and extensive sericite alteration and silicification.
The large step-out holes drilled with HMP 161 and HMP 162 included extensive alteration similar to the C-Zone some 500 metres to the east. Given the limited drilling conducted in this area to-date, we are encouraged by the potential that may exist west of the C Zone toward the Buffalo mine.
A portion of the year was invested in targeting exploration on a property optioned from a private exploration company, Bounty Gold Corp. Although our work did not result in a new discovery, we believe it’s important to continually assess opportunities that may exist elsewhere in the Red Lake camp.
Premier was not active with surface or underground exploration on our other Red Lake property, the Rahill Bonanza joint venture, in 2017. We did however collaborate with Goldcorp to better define work that needs to be completed during this quieter period of the joint venture’s evolution. In 2018, we will continue to refine and update our interpretations and property models.
Finally, the Premier team has put the finishing touches on exploration plans for all its active properties in our portfolio. We anticipate sharing those plans with you early in the new year.
Until then, enjoy the holiday season, but don’t forget to keep it safe.
